The Prism See-Saw, also called the Prism Tilt, appeared in American Ninja Warrior 5 as the third obstacle in Baltimore. Read on for tips and exercises on how to perfectly execute the Prism See-Saw in your next Ninja Warrior challenge.
The Prism See-Saw Obstacle
So, what is the Prism See-Saw? Competitors need to jump over a small pit onto a large triangle which was supported by an axis in its center. The addition of weight on one side of the triangle would tilt it into the water, so it needed to be crossed quickly. This obstacle required both speed and balance.
Prism See-Saw Tips
To successfully complete this obstacle, one must get a head start by running at an even pace, then aiming to jump in the center without slipping and falling into the water below you on either side of the triangle see-saw, pausing for a small amount of time, then shifting your weight to jump onto the solid platform therefore putting you at the end of the obstacle. Our number one tip from The Ninja’s Edge gym is to keep your knees bent during the obstacle.
Ninja Warrior Obstacle Guide Exercises for Prism See-Saw
Our first exercise that is crucial for executing the Prism See-Saw obstacle is Balance Exercises. Balance exercises will strengthen your legs and keep your weight centered in the middle of the Prism See-Saw.
Our second recommended exercise from our experts at the Ninja’s Edge recommends high intensity interval training (HIIT) to increase your heart rate, that way your body is used to being in a position where it can handle faster pulse and heavier breathing techniques. You can practice HIIT by either sprinting on your at-home or gym treadmill, elliptical, or preferred cardio machine. Or you can use your standard strength training exercises such as pushups, squats, and mountain climbers at an increased speed to really start to get your heart going.
